MJC EEb third branch

The MJC EEb third branch is hand-formed from brass sheet. It removes the post-tuning slide constriction that is in the original Besson third branch.
Fitted in conjunction with some of the versions of the fourth valve conversion, it also removes the need for an extra ferrule to turn the branch end through 90 degrees.
They are also available as straight replacements for branches that have worn through from years of use.

Drainable first compensating loop

Sometimes the first valve compensating loop gets full of water, or we need to get a cleaning brush through it.
The removable bow allows this to be done easily, especially if we add a Saturn water key.

Shorten Sovereign first compensating loop

When Besson made the Sovereign EEb they lengthened the first compensating loop. Thus, all Sovereigns had a flat 1+4 combination for the low Ab.
This can be remedied by shortening the bow.

The silver valves on the left are from an Imperial. The valves on the right are from a Sovereign. The extra, unnecessary length can quite clearly be seen.

Mobilise and shorten first valve slide

This custom work is done in conjunction with the fourth valve conversion.
It allows the player to shorten the slide to get F and E in the stave in tune, and make adjustment for any note using the first valve, especially lengthening to get low F and E so it can be blown through the middle and not lipped down.
